Default Any Painting experts/or bodywork ??

I took my 2014 XLT to Ford to get my roof repaired... had some clearcoat up there that was peeling. right above drivers side door. everything looked ok at the dealer but apon further inspection all my rubber trim around windows drivers and passenger side are blotchy looking/stained. what is it as armor all did nothing. I keep my truck washed and waxed and now this. my last few visits have been a nightmare... its on ever piece of rubber surrounding the windows drivers side front and back. passenger side is fine !!

anyone know what this is.? anyway i can fix it ??

If it didn't look like that when you took it to the dealer then I would take it right back.

Looks like a chemical got on it. Have you tried a 50/50mix of water and rubbing alcohol?

They may try paint thinner on it, if I'm reading correctly you had some paint work done. It could also be from taping off.

Mine have looked similar before and I used simple green, but it wasn't paint on mine.

:S maybe try 'wipe new' to refresh the oils in the rubber.. definitely was some type of chemical. If that doesn't work ,possibly find what chemical it was and try to match the rest? that would be a list ditch effort before replacing them (if possible). Good luck, I feel for you. id be pissed

Yeah, do not let them try paint thinner on it. If it won't come off, and they need to use thinner, they need to get you new moldings.

First thing I would try is a polishing compound on a white rag. The micro abrasives will remove any surface contamination and reveal fresh rubber below
