Default Any ideas on how to get this crap off my dash!

Hey, I am a rookie to this particular forum and I am a new(to me) 2010 F-150 SCRW Lariat 4x4 owner. I have searched and not came up with anything. I purchased this truck from the original owner that apparently decided to mount his GPS or cell phone mounting bracket with foam tape on the trim next to the NAV unit. I thought this would be a fairly simple fix but it has definitely not been easy. Any ideas on what I can do to get this stuff off without taking the silver finish off of the trim. Even thought about buying this part from Ford but its $150 so I am looking for an easier on the wallet fix first. Thanks [IMG][/IMG]

Yeah, that's what I thought too. He apparently mounted it the first time below this spot that has the same stuff on it. Its in a harder to see area so I used Goo B Gone there first to see how it did and it took the finish off. Its now black . I used alcohol pads on it too and it wouldn't take it off. This stuff has set up like cement.

Can you maybe hit it with a hair dryer and melt it a little bit? Might help getting it off
