How close to NOLA are you? I may be working in McComb, MS in another month or two and might get you to do it if I can't find anyone to do it for a reasonable price before then.

Yup, I just re read it after my last post

However you can get the VCMII and install the IDS software and it allows you to use it for 3 days (Trail version) before it become inactive. Then you'll need to purchase the $699 yr license

Hardware = $1,500 and assumes you already have a laptop to use with it.

Licensing = $700/yr

Training (Basic) = $90 x how many specialty courses. Electrical, electronic,etc...

That's the setup I have in the 1st link, with all that said you can get one of those VCMII clones on ebay, it comes with an older version of IDS v86 that has been patched and requires no yearly fee, use it as much as you want for free once you buy it, the caveat there is you will not have Ford updates to the latest calibrations or any other support files, you should be able to use it for all Fords 96-13 including being able to activate things like DTRL, R/S , program keys, etc....

That is what I have been told so I don't have personal experience using that equipment or the patched software (yet) I do have the software and already have the hardware and soon as my sub runs out I will be giving it a try.

Here is a typical ebay listing for the clone I speak of and for the cost it's probably worth a try.

It helps this way.....just an FYI so he doesn't get bent over,as a dealer quoted me $90 to program,after making an appointment, I decided to call other dealers to see if it was a fair price,low and behold,the second dealer said they would only charge fir cutting the blanks,after they were done they told me no charge..so point is...there are good dealers....so how does your post contribute to this topic?..that's right. .it doesnt
