I tried a few other short antenna options and settled on the Cravenspeed stubby antenna. It's small, stiff, out of the way, and it seems to be well made. Most importantly, it's out of my field of vision and I forget it's there.

I literally never listen to FM/AM radio. I keep the stock antenna in my in-bed toolbox in case I really need to get some FM reception.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, just had a quick question about stubby antennas. I do a lot of hunting so I'm driving my truck through very tight trails where tree limbs are catching the mirrors, windshield and antenna all the time. Would a stubby be a bad idea because its stiff? Its a nice, quick and simple mod for the truck but I wouldn't want it to snap off on me

The Cravenspeed stubby antenna is only a few inches long. It's tiny. It should be fine for your needs, although if you're hunting in remote areas the reception might be an issue.

The stubby antennas use a loading coil in the base to tune the antenna for the FM band. They don't have the same gain (signal output) as the standard 31" antenna so reception suffers.

For FM reception, the center of the FM band puts a 1/4 wavelength antenna at just under 31 inches. I just installed the tallest antenna on mine that would still clear the garage door. I'm sure I lost some reception but the stations I listen to still seem to come in about as well as they did before.

I put the 3" stubby from Cravenspeed on last week. I live in upstate NY and have great reception with it in the hills up here.

I don't think I've even listened to am/fm in the 5 months I've owned the truck. Always either Sirius or bluetooth so I'm not too worried about reception

^ you're fine then. The Sirius transmitter is the flat black nub on your roof. The Cravenspeed will NOT break going through brush. It's stout and very short. It makes the truck look so much better than having the factory eyesore.
