Another tire question
I have done the search thing and everything I found involves new wheels but I'm keeping the stock wheels.
Here it goes, 2011 FX4 Screw with 2 inch level and 3" rear blocks already done. Looking to step up to either 275/70/18 or 295/70/18 but I don't want any rubbing or trimming. Also, will the 295's fit on stock wheels or are they too wide?
Thanks

295/70's on stock wheels. You will have no rubbing. They will fit on the wheel, however, I am wondering if they will wear correctly on our stock wheels because they are so narrow and the tires are so wide. I think that they may begin to wear in the middle faster than on the edges.

I faced the same dilemma a few weeks ago when I went to put new tires on my truck. The guy at the tire shop strongly suggested that I stick with the 275/70r18 size as the 295's aren't designed to be mounted on our narrow factory rims and will wear out prematurely. I ended up getting a set of 275/70r18 Goodyear Duratracs with a 2.5" leveling kit and am completely satisfied, these are a breath away from rubbing my mudflaps. They look great, have fantastic reviews and are ready to tear through the snow

I've posted this same question myself multiple times in different threads. I am leaning 295's as I am afraid the 275's look a little small (DylMyr your truck DOES look good though...) with the level. I have read those with 275's lose 1-2 mpg. Not much better than those with 295's. The local tire shop recommends the 295's as I will be installing an AS 2" front and 3" rear block. But, if I can swing it, I plan on doing rims too as the factory rims are really too narrow for me running a larger tire. My thought is this. The factory tires are 32". By adding a 2" level, theoretically going up in tire size by 2" with the level should allow an equal tire size increase in most cases.
