Another camper third brake light thread... HELP
Hello all, long time listener first time caller. I was able to pick up a leer 100R camper shell recently for my 2013 short bed XLT. For the way home I used a long trailer plug in for the third brake light, but want to make a more permanent solution that doesn't use up my trailer plug. I can the wires according to this great thread here, but only the dome light works. I tried to check the blue/orange or blue/pink(color depending on who you ask) line and it doesn't seem to have any power when the brakes are pressed. If I plug the camper shell back into the trailer plug in the LEDs work, but no dome light, plus I don't have my trailer plug in for towing.
Is there a fuse associated with that wire? Is there something else that needs to be done once that wire is tapped? I checked the fuses mentioned in the other thread I linked, and they are fine. I also traced that wire back to the front fuse box, but I won't know what that wire would be called or fed into. Every trailer related fuse I checked and they are ok. Any help that can be provided would be great. I am pulling my hair out and really don't want to pay a shop to wire up the shell when I have already done 99% of the work.
