Everything was replaced with new pipes from where the resonator was cut off which was about 2 in front of it.

That is an obvious yes, the drone absorber (resonator) he said was removed.

I'll bet within 2-3 months that resonator goes back on.

Ive heard alot of people have this exhaust though with no resonator and they have no drone.

so i had my stock res expanded to 3" and put bak in on an all 3" system..then 2 weeks ago i got a maggie 13742 30" total 24" case to act as a res in place of the stock one its great! i was told after hearing a flaping metal sound that the maggie was broke internally but i think that there was srapes from the old resinator on the engine side of the pipe and after a lomg highway jaunt the sound is gone. well see as i have a 35" jonnes glass pack on it way.

You've heard a lot of liars trying to save face for screwing up. I have a Mag system on my truck and can't imagine how bad it would drone without the res.

Does it still have a nice moderate sound? I dont want it too quiet.

Ther is no annoying drone. If you get the right size magnaflow new tip, muffler swap and res. delete there is no drone. Not sure how you can call someone a liar if you do not have not been in there truck

Ya like I told him I have seen multiple threads of people saying they have the 12198 magnaflow 14inch muffler with a resonator delete, and they have no drone. I would imagine it would be pretty quiet with the resonator left on.

I left my res on when I did my muffler swap. It was a beautiful tone. Quiet at idle quiet but deep at cruising, but when you got on it or down shifted it growled. Went a year like that and wanted something a ill more deeper and agressive. Had the res taken out and it has some ***** now. Plenty of compliments from ppl riding in the truck. 147miles round trip to work running 75-80 and no drone. If I had a drone I would have been annoyed and changed it out. It's not loud and splatty sounding like some goat Ropers blasted out glass pack systems. It's just smooth DEEP agressive rumble. I don't mean aggressive like the borla system...that is just way to much for me.

My old 98 5.4 with full borla exhaust and turndowns had an annoying repeatative noise in the cab.
