Annoying Squeak coming from the bed?

Mine drives me crazy too, it squeaks where the tailgate latches. You can just grab the tailgate in the closed position and lightly shake it to make it squeak. If I spray the posts with silicone it goes away until we get a small rain shower, which is basically everyday. Last time I got sick of it and tried some synthetic grease on the posts. That has lasted longer.

You have to take the back off the tailgate and resnug the bars that connect the latch to the handle. This will fix your squeak. I did mine 2 years ago and not a problem since.

i do not have the step on my tailgate.
