Ams oil ecoboost
Has anyone use ams oil in their ecoboost? What did you think about it, did it make it run better or worse? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine is an ams oil dealer and has asked me if I want to use it. I just don't know much about it.

Its all one word, Amsoil.
Amsoil is great oil but you would be wasting your money running that oil. The ecoboost motor can produce fuel in the oil and you should be changing it every 5-7.5k miles. If you ran amsoil you would be throwing your money away.

I have used it in the past and while it seems to be good, it's a pain to get and is expensive. When I can easily get Mobil 1 at any Walmart for less, it's an easy choice.

Amsoil has some really good products but they are designed for high mileage drivers. If you stay under 15,000 miles a year then there are other synthetics that are cheaper.
Amsoil uses Mobil base stock but uses a stronger additive package in their premium oils.

I've used it for years, but only once in my ecoboost since i dump it so quickly. I still do buy the amsoil filters and they are superior to paper filters.

That's not true. I run Amsoil in my EcoBoost, pay a good price by being a preferred member, I'm not a dealer. It also helps to live in the same state with one of their warehouses so you can have your order same day by local pickup or shipped and received by next day. It's not as complicated as people make it out to be, "it's so hard to find and this and that". There's local dealers all over the country that you have access to it or online 24/7, shipped and arrived by the time you need it. Simple.

You still have to pay them money to get a discount on something that is still overpriced. I'm not knocking the oil itself, but their entire business model really revolves around signing people up as "preferred customers" or dealers and not just selling oil.

As a dealer I actually pay the fee for my preferred customers. Used oil analysis and engine tear downs show that the oil is indeed no overpriced. No more expensive than Pennz Ultra.

Most dealers mark it up to retail or just below and then tack on shipping. If you sign up as a PC then you still have to pay for a membership and then shipping. Thus making it not worth it when compared to the pricing and availability of other synthetics.
