Perhaps the Cam Phaser was not operating correctly. Perhaps it was stuck. The Cam phaser is operated by a solenoid, and that solenoid is controlled by the computer. I at times, thought that the computer was keeping the cam phaser in a less than ideal position.

OR you did have an obstruction in your air filter and it cleared. My truck has so much torque, I can usually leave twin tire marks if I'm not careful at the stops. If my truck feels sluggish and won't spin the tires, it's because the filter is getting dirty. The same was true on my 2008 4.6L 3V Sport Trac 4WD. When it was sluggish on take offs, it was time to change the filter. In fact you want to change the filter before this as fuel economy will suffer as it did with me.

I haven't used any gas stations other than the normal ones I normal go to.

I thought you were BSing me regarding the cam phaser....until I clicked on that link. Interesting. I thought I was going to hear something like your low on plutonium in your flux capacitor!!!!!!!!!

Whatever the reasoning is, whether is factual or mental...at least I am satisfied!!!!! lol

Yeah, I have heard that!

I always check it (between my fingers) before they pour it in the motor; you know, make sure it's the slippery stuff and not something other.

Hey, enjoy your new Race Red truck!!!

My truck has been much stronger lately but the weather has dropped all of a sudden in my area so it's just the cold dense air in my case.

Wink

After reading this thread, I went outside to my truck '2010 (5.4)' and poked it saying; "Time to wake up yet?"

No response.

There are times when vechicals can seem faster or have more HP depending on the conditions outside. I don't know the exact info but its just something I noticed.

I woke up this morning and my truck was in my bedroom poking me saying, "Time to wake up yet?"

There is nothing in the world like the love a man and his truck have together.

Well, it has been cooler in my neck of the woods.

Sorry to hear your "truck" wouldn't wake up rmrc51!!!!! I'm glad mine did. Even the ride into work this morning brought a grin to my face.......
