Default Airbag Light after Stereo Install - 09 Super Crew

Finally got my truck back from Carmax, new mirrors! yaaay!
They were unable to find my water leak, but said if it happens again, they will repair it free of charge!

So I finally was able to install my pioneer double din and factory trailer brake controller, and called it a night

Got up and went to go to work, airbag light is on in the cluster.
Went out at lunch, and started it, still on.

I disconnected the battery for the install
Used all crutchfield harness
Didnt splice into anything
TBC plugged into the factory plug

Didnt reuse the sync aux, sync usb or little square plug that went into the faceplate near the CD

I'll throw my midlevel harbor freight OBD scanner on tonight for codes

I dont have forscan yet

update:
jumped in, started it, hazard button functions, and passenger airbag light OFF is lit up.

will scan it in a bit!

Did I miss something?

theres a passenger airbag light on the top of the radio bezel. did you forget to plug that one back in? check your hazards...if they dont work either, then you forgot to plug that harness back in....i believe theyre on the same plug.

Airbag or seatbelt warning lights should be taken to the dealer. They will usually cover it free of charge if it’s a simple fix like a loose wire or something. I’ve done this before at Ford and Honda dealers and have never paid a cent for a safety device checkup and repair.

Went to Ford today at lunch

Them: "Who installed your stereo?"
Me: Me
Them: Well wherever you tapped into power you caused an airbag/computer fault, Ive never seen this code in 22 years.
Me: Well I didnt cut a single wire, and used all off the shelf harnesses from Crutchfield. 100% plug and play
Them: Well your truck computer doesnt like the stereo, its causing a communication issue
Me: I'll put the stock one back in and come back
Them: Good idea

So I put the stock stereo back in, unhooked the battery for 20 min hoping for a hard reset on the airbag light
No dice airbag light still on

Ugggghhhhh

Far more likely you unplugged another wire.
