Default Airaid or K&N??

I know there are a million threads on CAI topics but I've narrowed it down to two. Im on the fence on which one to go with and I do not want to do the Gotts mod. Any opinions would be great...

I am in the exact same spot right now. I am leaning towards airaid though because i have heard nothing but good about them and the filter size to is hard to pass on.

In the world of turbos a k&n allows for turbo dusting. If the you check the diesel sights you can check up on the k&n. If you are a n/a engine the k&n is a great way to go.

I've had two Airaid CAI's on my 5.0, and sent them both back.....way too much noise into the cab. I am back to the factory air box (which actually is a cold air intake) and a WIX drop in paper filter. Keep it stock, keep it simple. Don't give Ford ANY reason to deny any warranty claim that you may have now or in the future.

Stock with any OEM replacement filter, IMO. I changed my OEM filter at 20,000 miles to a WIX.

Default Neither

Unless you want the noise or extra sound from it stick with the factory cold air, just put a high flow cleanabe filter in the stock box. The k&n i had on my 5.4 never sealed so it's was'nt a cold air cause you're getting high temp from inside the engine compartment

K&N uses a high flow filter that allows more particulates into the engine. Yes, it's more air but also more fine dust that will leave deposits on the piston and valves. The stock air box is a CAI and works very well.
