YUP, looked last night nada, maybe a good question for Crystal - Why did engineering remove the cabin filter from these trucks? Every other vehicle i've owned has had one. I think the smell is a direct result of no filter, it's sucking in all that crap from the outside.

They should take the customers words more seriously. It smells like manure, so start investigating the possible fixes.
Now this is exactly why I cancelled my service appointment. My truck smelled and then it didn't. And now I'm experimenting to see exactly when the smell occurs.

Mine, and most of the consensus on here that is experiencing this is consistent with an overnight sit...or at least a few hours of sitting. But as I type this, I guarantee that tomorrow morning, I will get the horse , (manure) smell when I start it up first thing in the morning.
I am now waiting on my dealership who is in process of talking to Ford Engineering about this & most likely will replace the Evap box assembly, as everyone who had their dealer step up & change this, has NO longer experienced this.

My 2013 had the same exact symptoms and smell - currently in the shop awaiting a new evaporator. Little worried about them pulling the dash but will be worth knowing its fixed/not dealing with the embarrassing smell.

The smell is back, evap was replaced in early August so only lasted 6+ months. I'm out of warranty now so I'm assuming there will be major pushback on getting it repaired for little or no cost.

Sorry to hear that... But I too, think that my smell has also reared itself back after my evap replacement was done last year as well.
we only had a couple warmer days & went cold again, here in PA.
BUT...I did NOT even have my A/C on. The same setting that I always use. (def & leg combo) and temp set at 71*. I'm positive I smelled it last week, but I'll see what happens later this week when it's suppose to hit 60*.
So.... My question is: This has NEVER smelled until a warmer temp. (Cold weather 40* & below, I have NEVER smelled it).
I'll see what happens next week!

What the hell??
You're right tho, once it gets to around 45 or 50˚f, it comes back.

Yep! Wtf!!!! It is indeed back! I did not smell it this morning one bit (it was 38* this morning.) I'm now taking lunch at 1:00 & smelled it friggen immediately! It is 46* right now.
No A/C has been used AT ALL & has not been used for a few months. My heater settings are still exactly just as what they have been pretty much throughout this whole winter.
So.... What gives??
So, I would now say that this is not freon leak related because I can now rule this out and only smells AFTER it reaches mid 40* temps. And will stay consistent until the temp drops.
Wow!!!! What could be causing this???
Gonna have to reach out to Azuri (forum member) to see if it's shown itself to his truck yet.

The Weather hasn't been warm enough we only had a couple days that reached 10C about 50F for my US friends and so far the smell hasn't returned. I think in the next week or two I should be able to report back if the smell does in fact return. If and when the smell returns I'll post here right away.
