The individual switches I believe are 10amps each so you might not want to plug them both into the same 10amp circuit...........for my needs I think I have to go to battery. Just wired a kit in our nissan to the battery and works perfect with remote start. Now to fix the truck.

So correct me if I'm Wrong! The Thicker of the two positive wires Should go to the Battery with a 20 amp in line fuse! Thinner of the two Positives to Slot 33 in kick panel, for currently unused OEM Seat Heaters with a add a Fuse w/a 10 Amp Fuse in the Add A Fuse?

So if I leave the seat heaters on, take the Key out- the Power to the seat heaters Should be Off then!

So now when I use my oem Remote Start, and previously left my seat heaters on when key out they should be a Activated If its Chilly outside Correct?

Sorry if these are a Silly questions, just want to be a Sure! Thanks

Good luck! I took the seats out to install the kits. It's very easy to remove the seats - 4 bolts and an electrical connector or two. The seat bottom pad will need to go under a metal cable in the seat upholstery. Try to protect the heat pad as much as possible under that cable - my seat heater kit came with some extra strips of material and I used them there. That wire cable could damage the pad electrically as the materials there wear over time. At a minimum the pad would lose heat in its front part near your legs, or the pad might stop working completely.

I used plastic zip ties to replace the hog rings. The zip ties worked great.

My heated seats came with separate wiring and switches. I put fuse taps in the passenger compartment's fuse panel slots 32 and 33 and wired one seat to each.

These two slots are both controlled by the ignition switch, though a bit differently. One turns on and off directly with the key. The other also works with the key, but remains powered on like the radio until the driver's door opens.

My truck is an XLT without the remote start feature. Further, the switches on the seat kit I bought turn off whenever power is cycled... they have to be turned back on manually whenever the truck is shut off and restarted.

You may need to substitute the heater kit's switches to get that effect. The pushbutton switches in my kit would not support that.

If you have a simple switch (off/on or multiple settings like the rotary type) controlling the heaters, then......if you wire the inserts to battery and the switches to a fuse that has power when the truck is started by key or remote, then you should be OK. But you have to make sure the switch has power going to it on key or remote start and the switch has to be turned on when you shut off you truck. That way, when you remote start it, the switch is on and puts power to your seat heaters.

It is a lot of work, but when I did it on my last truck, it was definately worth it. After a day or two, you will get over the "Ugh" feeling . After I did mine, i realized how good this mod really was and worth the effort. Your butt will thank you for your efforts.

Congrats on the mod......

Looks good

I agree with FordEver, you'll soon forget the work once you fire them up all the time.
