Hey guys, I'm looking into doing this Mod. very soon! If I use a fuse tap to pass. Kick panel labeled for Unused heated seats.

Will the newly added seat heaters come On, and go Off with the Key On only? As to not drain my battery if they were Accidentally left on! Thank you

I would assume so. Easiest way to found out would be to test it with a voltage tester.

Anyone who tapped into the unused seat heater fuse in the passenger kick panel, did you have to add a Relay in the engine compartment Fuse Bay? Or is it already there and work once a Fuse Tap is added? Thanks again

The inserts I added had a relay for each seat,. There was no need to add anything. What kinda inserts you have?

Mine had a relay controled by the switch. I powered my switch from the power for the leds in the switched in the doors for the windows. These leds are always on when the truck is on. When the truck was shut off the relay opened, thus cutting power to the seat inserts

Dunno if this helps you. But nit worked for me...

You can find them cheaper than that. I got mine from China. Worked excellent. You should be able to find them for well under $100. I think I paid about $80 shipped. If you go through this thread all the info is here.

I think most local sellers are buying from China and reselling. Most kits look very similar

I got a kit very similar to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-round-button-3-levels-switch-seat-heater-2-seats-heated-seat-kit-/251211721194?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AF-150&hash=item3a7d62a9ea&vxp=mtr

I put the switches in a little bracket I rigged up, in that empty slot in the dash between the radio and the glove box.

I installed the kit last November. Very pleased so far (knock on wood!) The seats warm comfortably within 5-7 minutes or so, depending on how cold it is when I start my truck. My truck sits outside at night. 2013 XLT, cloth seats with the Carhartt seat covers.

The seat fabric need not come all the way off when installing the pads. Also, it's easy to add foam to give more lumbar support to the driver seat, while the seat back fabric is unzipped.

Ordered 2 of these, should be here before next weekend! Just suck I waited soo long, as I only get to use them for 4-6 weeks before it starts to heat up in STL!

These should fit great as they're 9" wide by 18 long and can be trimmed to fit length wise!
