Default Number of blinks - seems like a no brainer, can it be increased from 3 to 5

When I plug the trailer in to the truck, my "change lanes" blink rate goes from 3 to 5. Is there any way to trick the truck in to thinking a trailer is attached and keeping the lane change number at 5 blinks?

There have been quite a few threads on this but I have yet to see a fix for it.

I was taught to drive in the 80's, yeah dating myself... but I wanted to make a lane change I should turn on my blinker... after three flashes the drive behind me has been notified and Im coming over. This was driving in Chicago, so maybe in other more rural towns you need more blinks... However I do agree it would be nice to self-regulate the number of blinks that happen. Should be some way to change settings!

Here in San Antonio, if you use your blinker to change lanes, people either look at you like your vehicle had a defect, or they speed up to block you out.

haha, our town is the worst, everyone here drives like they are passing their drive test, driving down the freeway and you can tell the passers through are just fuming, we have way to many cops patroling the roads and they drive random unmarked cars, their pay is based on how many tickets are written.

That is correct. You should be able to "fool" the vehicle into thinking it is pulling a trailer.

I agree, that as it is programmed into the truck to change to five blinks when towing, there should have been a way to change this in the menu settings when not towing.......at least Ford was thinking right when they changed the towing default to five blinks......brilliant!......but I might even be happier with it being 5 and 7 .....
