Aftermarket 5.0 exhaust with resonator
Want to hear from those that have aftermarket exhaust with the resonator still installed. I am afraid to drop the cash for a custom stainless system without the resonator, then hate it because of drone. How much does it really cut down sound? I am particularly interested in the 14" Magnaflow with a resonator installed. I am either going to go 14" Magnaflow SI/DO with resonator, or 18" without. Just want to be sure.

I have a Magnaflow 18" dual out the same side. Left my resonator intact. You can still hear a rumble, a few decibels above stock but it really opens up when you give it throttle. My son loves it! Not sure my wife and daughter even realized I changed it. My neighbors still talk to me and most important, I love how it sounds.

OP this is my system. Love it and it bolts right onto the original resonator. Don't be fooled by the year model, they hadn't change it since 11 but it will slide right into place all years 2009-2014 except ecoboost.

Thank You.
This is a legitimate thread. The shop I deal with does not allow people to "test out" mufflers so I want to be sure before I drop $750 on a full stainless cat back. The shop said that the price is the same weather I do resonator delete or leave the resonator. The tips I want are also double walled, so I don't know if that's why the price is high also. There is a lifetime guarantee on everything. My tips, and exit, are going to be identical to this:

I have a Roush cat-back with the resonator. Without the resonator it was much louder than I wanted. Even now I feel like a jerk to my neighbors when I start the truck to go to work at 5:15am. That being said, the volume is great the drone is minimal at best but it does "rap" in a tinny way at high RPM if I really romp it. I am talking over 5k RPM. Otherwise where a drone would typically be there is a slight reverb effect that is odd but easily overcome with a bit of throttle input. It happens usually at part-throttle up a modest incline. No biggie at all.

That exit pointe is going to look great. I've got a Borla, and wish I could have had my pipes run like that. Mine are closer to the centre, and come straight back. I wonder if when you get this done, you'd post some photos of the tail pipes as to how high up they're tucked to allow that angle they dump. I think I could get a retrofit, I don't know, I've almost $1100 wrapped up in this exhaust, but IMO, worth it.
