2012 Automatic Transmission Issue

2012 Automatic Transmission Issue
I was driving home from work today in my 2012 FX2 5.0 and I had my transmission act a little funny...I was riding in traffic, probably 15-20mph in 3rd I think, wasn't paying attention that much.
Traffic picked up a bit, so I pressed the gas a little more and the RPMs shot up to 3,000 and the truck didn't speed up, acting like it was in neutral. I even looked down to see if I bumped it into neutral without noticing it, but I was still in drive.
Shifted into neutral, speedometer went down to zero, back to drive, speedometer went back to 20mph, and then I kept on driving. No lights, no warnings, just threw me off quite a bit. I did some searching here, but I haven't seen this issue after a few minutes of searching.
Anyone else experienced something like this?

Mine does something like this every now and again when shifting from 3rd to 4th during moderate acceleration. My issue I'm pretty sure is the tq converter unlocks so my Rpms shoot up a little bit then it finally shifts. It's only a 1 sec process

try resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery. just pull off the negative side and use a jumper wire from positive side to ground wire making sure not to contact the negative on the battery. wait 5-10 minutes then reconnect battery, i do this about every 6 months or when i feel like i do not like the way it shifts. with drive by wire and electric shifts sometimes it just gets confused trying to process both at times.

I had the same thing happen a few days ago while driving with "tow-haul" on. Drove yesterday, did not use tow-haul, and the shifting was flawless. Go figure.

Hi folks,
If you're concerned, you can always get this in front of your dealership so they can check it out. Need help after your appointment? Give me a shout via PM and I'll see what I can do. Be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

I did call a service department back in April, but they hadn't heard anything about this issue.
I also saw a link today regarding a recall for this type of transmission issue affecting Taurus, Flex, and Edge vehicles, but no F-150 yet...
