When I put a 4" lift on my truck I definitely had to adjust them down, was shining inside passenger compartments of mid size vehicles, with them adjusted using the method I posted above, my beams barely reach the trunk lids or hatchbacks before the glass begins.

Just for the record, if your driving a Miata your SOL in any event.

Even with the level and 34" tires mine still catch the side mirrors of Corrolas and the like. Pitty on those who like being low to the ground!!
