AMP step users...

If you were ordering a new truck, would you opt for the Ford factory tailgate step or stick with the aftermarket AMP step?

How much extra is the man step? You should see how easily this one deploys with your hands full...

I looked at a window sticker for a F150 that has the tailgate step option and it said $375.00 Difficult question to answer for me. Since i don't have the Ford tailgate step i don't know if it is a better option than the after market step. Does anybody have both or previous experience with either tailgate step?

I have the amp step. My neighbor has the tailgate step. I would get the amp step. You can use it with the tailgate closed. My truck is lifted so its a big help. My neighbor admitted he would use the amp step instead of the ford tailgate step. Just cause its more convenient. Plus less likely to have anything break on it or rattle. Just my opinion. Before I got the amp step I was wishing I had opted for the tailgate step. Now im glad I didnt et it and found this option.

Me vote for Amp Research step too. Pricey, but well designed, works well (kinda same situation like the Du-Ha under seat storage thing) AND can be used with tailgate closed OR open. Real nice and worthy mod. Get it, you will not be disappointed.

I would say get the factory tailgate step. I have that, neighbor has the amp step. We both prefer the tailgate step, easier to use and it's a bigger footprint to step on. When the tailgate is up, there is a huge step on the bumper to use. I know this is opposite of what the others just said.

i almost never get into the bed of the truck without the tailgate being down, so the AMP step would be useless for me.
