Hello everyone, so i purchased a 2013 steering wheel because mine was worn and falling apart. Now, currently my 2009 f150 does not have steering wheel controls other then cruise control. I also purchased a sync module that goes under the dash behind the radio as an impulse buy on ebay( we've all had those right). Now im not super concerned with the phone part working (although it would be nice if it did) i just want the steering wheel controls to work. Has any one added sync if so, do i need anything other then the module ? All the forums say dont bother buy an aftermarket HU. But thats not the answer im looking for. Is the wiring all there ? Do i need another harness from the sync to the radio. Is there something behind the gauges ? I know i will need a rearview mirror with a mic but i can do that later. These trucks are all slapped together the same and the option was available on this year on the lower trim levels. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

The main problem is 2011+ trucks are different than '09-'10 trucks with the intro of the BCM instead of the GEM which is what you have. How this all ties into the Sync module and steering wheel controls I don't know but I doubt it is going to be a PNP situation. Have you removed your old steering wheel and put on the '13 wheel? If so, did the plugs match?

 

The all the plugs are the same from what it looks like in the picture. I haven't recieved them in the mail yet.
