Adding puddle lights

^x2 The problem usually is with the truck not having the proper wiring harness. The mirrors generally come with all the wires needed. That's why when we upgrade to the towing mirrors, the included turn signals don't work unless the original mirrors had them.

It can be done. You would just have to provide the wiring from the lamp to the harness. Not necessarly have to get a new harness just splice on to the correct wires, see the following how to:

How much do the puddle lamps actually help at night? I have the spots for them on my mirrors and want to make sure it'll be worth the trouble to wire them up

It depends on what you mean by "help". They're more for security than anything else. All they do is light up the ground outside the door. And they look cool.

Ok, I guess I might as well hook them up when I do my turn signals. If nothing else, for the "cool" factor

Thanks for the imput guy's, I was hoping their was an easy way to do it, maybe the wires were hidden up in their, it looks like it might be a pain in the you know what to hook them up.
