Question Adding Folding Mirrors Confusion! Help?

Hey all...I have a 2013 FX2 SCrew. I bought some OEM power Folding Mirrors and new Switch for them. I searched some threads on here. Now I'm Confused. Some Threads I read said it's Plug and play? some Say you need to run a few wires from Passenger side to Driver side then to the new Switch? .....What's correct? Mine does not have Power Fold....But has the Turn Signal, Auto Dim and I think heat also. Now my Question is....on the newer trucks like mine.....With the Power Fold work just by plugging in the new Mirrors and Switch? I added my own Puddle light's so I know that was wired in from the factory. Can anyone clarify if the Power Fold will just Plug-N-Play and not need to run new wires and such! Appreciate it! THnx.

#1 Patience is a virtue. This is not a chat line, do not expect immediate responses.

#2 Higher end options are usually not pre-wired as they are not common enough to make the investment of the extra copper, they usually require special wiring harnesses. So odds are it is not pre-wired for power fold, you will need to run wires.

Best way to find out is to plug everything in and give it a go.

Most trucks are pre-wired for the power fold. The running of wires across the truck is usually when people buy the big towing mirrors and want to use the power telescoping feature, which is not pre-wired in all trucks.

Most people have found that if they just want the power fold feature on the standard, non tow, folding mirrors, that it is pre-wired for it. Only way to truly tell is to try it and see.

If they do not work plug and play, You can check with A1 Auto and see if they sell the installation kit separately for the mirrors below.

Thnx. But I'm not trying to install the power tow mirrors. I'm doing the regular small factory mirrors but with just power fold. My truck has heated, auto dimming and turn signals on it already along with puddle lites. I just want toads the power fold if it's plug and play.

you wont have fold switch, on my 13 fx4 the wires were not there either, had to use a pin out diagram and wire the corresponding pins, I was in the middle of this and was going to cut switches into consoul, when I looked at a 15 sport, so its in my driveway instead

So your saying even if I buy the folding switch I still need to run wires? Cause I'm buying the new factory folding switch also.

You will have to check pinout on the plug to see if wires there, they may or may not be. Its a crap shoot. Pull door panel and find out. Easy enuff to do
