Are you referring to the steps to set the auto lamp delay or just in general?

I followed the steps to set the delay and nothing happened. Auto lights still act the same.

Damn, was worth a shot. Thanks!

I wonder if the STX might be a different case? I'm trying to justify spending the $85 for the parts just to try it out...

85 bucks is high. You can save money at tascaparts.com. I think I only spent 40 or so. I still use the auto light setting just so my lights shut off when I turn the key off. They didn't before.

That is from Tasca (love them, Josh has taken care of me for years!). Here is the breakdown:

Sentinel (sensor): $14.91
Switch (w/auto lamps, w/fog lights): $ $52.02
Estimated Shipping: $10
Total: $76.93

I was off by about $10. I'm not sure if I'd be happy with the lights being on full time... but my problem is the lights not shutting off when I get out. My last ~3 or so vehicles had the feature, and the nagging 'dinging' isn't catching my attention. I just want it to work like it should. D: Why would they leave the wires in place but leave us no option for enabling the use of them?

You can add the auto headlamps feature on XLs (I think) and STXs through the 2013 model year. The wiring and body control module programming capability are built in. Whats required are the correct light switch and the dash sensor. Through 2010 it's a "plug & play", no IDS programming needed, after that you have to have a dealer activate them by altering two lines of BCM code:

726-09-01, change from 0000 37, to 0100 38
726-12-01, change from 0000 000F 4F to 0001 000C 4D

This gets you in business with auto headlights. If you want the delay feature to show on the Message Center you have to alter an ICM code. That gets really dicey and IMHO isn't worth the trouble. You can reset the delay feature manually to whatever time up to 3 minutes you desire.

Hope this helps!

So I have a 2012 STX and bought the parts and obviously it didn't work the way I wanted it too -- it's always on in daylight. If I take those two little lines to the dealer and say, "make the change"... what is the likelihood they will? I'm a programmer by trade so when I see those lines above I start to think that "Oh great, here's a guy who wants to change some VERY SPECIFIC memory locations in the body control module that could screw up his entire truck... think I'll pass." (Playing devil's advocate.)

How did you determine that THIS was the change?

I'm not knocking it at all... if this works this is an incredible piece of detective work and many kudos coming your way.
