had the same issue with my old Tahoe. same fix for chevy's, new resistor under the passenger dash.

Is it set to "auto"? If so it may be working as designed. Will come on to drop the temp, will shut off when it gets to your set point.

So mine is doing the same thing as I mentioned earlier but couldn't reproduce it. I can now. If I hit the max ac button it blows real hard for a few seconds but then cuts off. None of the ac buttons will work at this point (no warning lights anywhere). While driving it will sometimes kick back in but shut off quickly.

If I turn the truck off/on it will blow real hard for a few seconds and cut off. Sometimes the buttons will work, sometimes not. If I lower it to between 1 and 4 bars, turn the truck off and back on it will work. If I go above 4 bars, same thing, it cuts off.

So I lower it to 1 bar, turn the truck off, turn it back on and it will work as long as I don't hit the max button or manually go above 4 bars. I still have about 4K left on the warranty so I am going to take it in now that it is repeatable.

As I have researched it is usually the resistor or the motor.

For anybody who cares.

I took my truck in on Wednesday and finally got confirmation today as to what the problem is. Blower motor and blower speed controller. They are not sure if one shorted the other but they are replacing both. Seems odd to me that the ac would work at all (which it does) but at least it is covered by my extended warranty.

I never buy extended warranties but for some reason I did this time. Glad b/c this is ~2500$ between the sunroof and now this that I didn't have to pay. Truck only has 56K on it and I know this aren't big issues but starting to lose confidence in Ford. Sunroof broke at around 30K I think and I hardly used it.

This is only the second time I have taken it to a dealer and man does it suck. Three days just to look at it and now the part won't be here until Monday. I can order that sh*t on Amazon Prime and get it here in a day.
