About to pull the trigger on 5 star
So after lots of research and talking to other members I am going to go with 5 star for tunning my 2012 5.0 FX4. I am hoping to see improvements in the transmission tunning and responsiveness of the throttle. Since this is a daily driver I really hope I will see improvements in the lower and mid range of the powerband.
For tunes this is what I am thinking.
87 tow/perf
93 tow/perf (this will be my main tune)
93 performance
87 eco
E85 tow/perf (This one is a maybe)

Thanks for the advice. I will drop the eco tune from my list.
E85 is cheap in my area. About .60 under 87 octane and I am currently running 93!!! So I am strongly considering trying there E85 tune especially if it gives you 93+ octane performance for a $1.10 less. I can deal with a 2-3 mpg drop if that's the case.

Per the 2012 manual;
FFV engine (if equipped)
If your vehicle is flex fuel capable, it is designed to use Fuel Ethanol
(Ed75–Ed85), “Regular” unleaded gasoline or any mixture of the two
fuels.
Use of other fuels such as Fuel Methanol may cause powertrain
damage, a loss of vehicle performance, and your warranty may be
invalidated.
It is best not to alternate repeatedly between gasoline and E85. If you do
switch fuels, it is recommended that you add as much fuel as
possible—at least half a tank. Do not add less than five gallons (18.9L)
when refueling. You should drive the vehicle immediately after refueling
for at least 5 miles (8 km) to allow the vehicle to adapt to the change in
ethanol concentration.
If you exclusively use E85 fuel, it is recommended to fill the fuel tank
with regular unleaded gasoline at each scheduled oil change

And here is where the battle will start.
#1:Why is E85 not good for your engine if it was built for it? We are talking specifically about the flex fuel 5.0 coyote F150.
#2:Where does it state in the flex flue 5.0 F150 that you must use regular gas every few tanks?

My 5* tunes are 87, 89, 91, all Performance/Tow tunes. I've also got the 87 and 89 Eco tunes, but never bothered with them. I have never tried any of my 5* on E85 either.
But, my MPT 93 Race tune has been run on gas and E85. I can notice a difference between gas and E85. Performance is definitely increased, but I lose 2.5/3 mpg.
I wonder what the E85 tune from 5* really does if no difference is noted. You'd think it would be next to breathing fire.
It's possible that this time of year you may not be getting true E85, it could be as low as E76. The formula is changed during the cold months to aid in starting. Here, it even states on the pump what the range could be.
