Have always run my 7.3 diesels for 200-300k miles, 6.0 had problems galore. No reason you guys wont see 200k plus with good full syn oil and care.

I have the 5.0 and hope to get another 100,000 out of it with little to no issues.

My brother has a 2002 with the 5.4 and he's about to hit 250,000. He had the transmission rebuilt last year but that's about it. His last truck was a 1996 with a 5.0 (I think) and it hit 305,000 before he wrecked it.

I had a Silverado before my F-150 and a Titan before that. The F-150 is by far my favorite (although I did love that Titan). I thought about getting another Titan but they just don't seem to do very well after hitting 70,000 or so. (Yes, I know you have a friend who's brother's neighbor's sister's uncle has one with 200,000 miles and no issues). The bottom line is that Ford builds a dang fine truck with a great legacy. I'm glad to finally be a part of the club.

I had a 2010 4x4 off-road with the 4.6 3 valve. I sold it recently with almost 270,000 on the clock. Did everything according to the manual schedules. Only I ran Mobil 1 from the first oil change. Altered oil change schedule a little though. I changed oil every 15k and the filter every 7500.

Sent oil sample in about every 3rd oil change and was still clean at that mileage. Used no oil between changes and never had the VCT issues like so many others have. Only issue was a water pump at 130k. Just make sure to run only the motorcraft oil filter only.

My wife's 2010 xlt has 120k now following the same procedure. Same engine. Have had absolute no issues yet.

If taken care of these new gas engines are totally capable of the mileage that most expect out of the diesels.

that I do. I am industrial and oilfield salesman so I put around 7000 a month on. Usually get a new truck every three years. I have 50k on my new FX4 5.0.

Btw. I've tried all three of the big 3 and get by far better reliability from my fords. Always been a ford guy but would drive one of the others if I could get better cost of ownership. Ram just plain sucked and stayed in the shop. I can get good results from GM drive train but the truck itself literally starts falling apart. Especially since I drive a lot of oilfield roads.

What did you get for trade in or sale on a truck that new with that many miles?

you can't trade it in. Dealer won't give you anything for it because banks won't finance it with that mileage. I sell it myself. Usually to someone that knows me and how I take care of my trucks. Last one to a service tech at the dealer I buy from for 14,000.

I get a vehicle allowance from my job that's pretty good so I only finance for three years and write off my mileage on my taxes.

I know a delivery driver who bought a brand new 2012 super crew XL Coyote

He put 110,000 miles on the truck in one year. No issues at all, towing a very large enclosed trailer packed FULL along with the bed and cab FULL

NO ISSUES AT ALL-just one set of tires I think brakes, a hand full of replacement trailer light fuses (bad wiring on trailer not the truck)

That sold me-I plan on driving this truck for a long time
