AAL, RAS or Air Bags with my 5100's
I am leveling out with the 5100's and wanted to get your guys opinion on what to put in the rear to stay level when loaded. I used to have the air lift bags in my 1500 Silverado and they did the job well but I am a little worries about possible tearing when lifted on a joist and I don't want to limit the travel with a limit strap. I never had any tearing problems when on a lift with the Silverado but I did see some new options out there. I usually have constantly 500-750lb in the bed and would look nose high with no solution in the rear and occasionally will have nothing in the bed. What's your guys opinions?

If that weight in the bed is a normal daily thing (assuming its tools or something) I'd go add a leaf. Unloaded it will lift the rear a bit- but if your constantly loaded with that weight day in/ day out, it will help keep it leveled and take some of the stress off your OE pack and do it cheaper than the other options. Win win win.

Unloaded I still have a bit of a rake- maybe 1 3/4 or a little more or less. I have the front lifted roughly the same- 1 3/4 or so. Here's the unloaded stance. Pic is on a sloped driveway keep in mind. If you want to stay leveled at all times though (or as close to) then you may want to just take your chances with the bags.

I did 5100 at full lift. Put superspring sa28 on it. Works perfect. Bed has maybe .5" rake unloaded. And when I tow my 24' 5600lb boat, it is maybe .5 nose high. Ride is pretty much the same as stock unloaded.
