I have a 2014 F 150 SuperCrew with the 3.5 L GTDI Ecoboost engine. ~122,000 km. My vehiclehas been out of service now for just over 5 weeks, as Wayne Pitman Ford in Guelph has not been able toget parts. I called the Customer relations number and tried to file acomplaint, but the people kept telling me to contact the dealership. Argh! The dealership says there is nothing they can do but wait for the part. Another 10 day delay which would put my wait time for part #BL3Z6D256B “Tensioner” to complete TSB 17-0026 at over 7 WEEKS.

The only help I have beenable to receive is “I’m sorry Sir, you will need to wait” From both the partsdealership, and from customer relations @ 1-800-565-3673
(I hear that the timing chainstretch and tensioner replacement is fairly common for the 3.5 L Ecoboost) butthis is unbelievable, overkill waiting on parts for a 2014 F 150 truck part.

All I am asking for is theparts. I don’t want a discount, free stuff, coupons, a new truck oranything else. I just want my truck.

I just googled the part number and it look like it is readily available for purchase from Tasca parts.

Maybe buy it and take it in to them?

I will check. When I first looked, I could not tell if they had inventory, and was worried about clicking the "go to check out" and then having another "backorder"

Ford Parts shows them but doesn't have a stock quantity. You might use the contact us link at the top right and inquire. Not sure they will answer but worth a shot.

How can a 2014 3.5 l ecoboost timing chain tensioner be rarer than rocking horse manure ?

I would have been suprised if they had the part, and no Ford dealer within a decent range of the dealership doing the repair did not. Most dealerships have a working relationship with parts depo places for cases such as this.
