Default 7 lug to 6 lug

Good morning everyone , forgive me if this has been answered but I searched and searched and didnt find what i needed. I have a 13 F150 4x4 and want to swap the 7 lug for 6 lugs. The specs I am finding seem to show that the 7 lug and 6 lug axles are the same size and have the same bearing , just the bolt pattern is different. Im hoping someone can confirm this for me before I try it. It also looks like the front hubs will interchange as well. Again sorry if this has been answered but I am new to fords

Why do you want to swap? The 7 lug is the stronger of the two and is actually something a lot of people want. You will be hurting the value of your truck and its ability to tow/haul.

Yep, on the '13 the 7-lug is the HDPP, the way I understand it the axles are the ones used in the heavy duty vans.

Only reason I can think of for doing it is for more wheel choices....

You can make the change, it's just a matter of how much you want to spend.

I bought it as a stolen recovery that had the engine and several things removed. Im just fixing it up to flip to help pay for my sons college and I thought it would sell better if I could change the wheels but I just noticed that there are a couple of companies that make 7 lug wheels. The ones I saw were from american racing.

I don't think you'll get your money out of switching from 7-lug to 6-lug. In fact, you might not be able to sell it for as much if you make that swap. The 7-lug truck is somewhat special and sought after by some for it's payload.

Not to mention that you’ll spend more money on buying new rims and tires than what you’ll end up getting out of it when you sell. Unless the stock rims are damaged, wheels are a matter of personal taste and may actually make it harder to sell.

I've got a 2012 XL ext cab, 3.5 EB engine, with the HDPP and 7 lug wheels. I've had a devil of a time finding 7 lug wheels. Nobody locally has access to them. Would you please send me the web sites you found with the 7 lug wheels? Thanks.
