Default 6R80 Deep Pan & Dipstick

Well, after installing one of these PA68405 on a customers truck two weeks ago, I decided to get one for myself from Summit Racing. It came within a day!

I removed about 7quarts of old fluid, and added 10quarts or so with the newer pan. Adding the fluid takes patience, as it goes down the tube slowly, and "burps" itself.

My truck has 50k miles on it. The fluid looked, and smelled, like it needed it. I do tow 5-7k lbs with this truck weekly though. The next change should go quickly.

I have been eyeballing that kit since I'm about to do a trans. service on my truck as well. However, I just used one of these deep aluminum pans on my Mustang GT earlier this summer and I have seen no reduction in fluid temps. So now I'm considering just reusing the stock pan and maybe buying the dipstick kit separately.

I haven't towed since I installed the pan. The difference would probably be minimal to be honest. I just like having the plug in there now.

Very nice to know....thanks for sharing. I have bought the fluid and have a filter ready to go in for mine but just need the time. I kind of like this idea especially having a legitimate dipstick. The one on the truck now looks like a joke. I wonder why Summit lists this for 09-11 F150's. Wonder what would be different for my 12' Platinum with the 6.2 and 6R80....if anything at all.

Edit....I see on the Applications tab it just says for Ford 6R80 so it should be fine. I'd still call before I ordered if I do.

Mine is a '13. The truck I installed it on was a '14. You'll be ok.
