Default 6" lift clearance on 2014 FX4

Trying to see if I can fit the truck in my garage with a 6" lift (unsure of the brand as bilstein doesn't offer an option for 2014. Prob going to do the boss kit from f150lifts.) and 35" tires (Toyo MT).

As of right now, my truck is stock. It has the stock grey 20" rims and the Pirelli scorpion 275x55r20s.

I measured how much room I had from the highest part of the cab to the lip of the garage while open and it measured 7 & 3/4"
This was with an empty tank of gas.

Is there a way to figure out exactly how much lift a kit and those new rims/tires will add?

Well 275 tires = 32 inch diameter = 16 inch radius
35 inch diameter = 17.5 inch radius
17.5 - 16 = 1.5 inches of lift from the tires + ~6 inches of lift from the actual lift

So there abouts 7.5 inches of lift if a 6" lift truly gives 6 inches

And that is a darn tall garage door to have 7 3/4" of clearance above your stock truck. Lucky

That would be way too close if it would fit at all. I've already accepted the fact that mine will be out in the rain after the lift. Small price to pay IMO.

Maybe I'm confused, but the bilsteins are leveling struts that will get you about 2.5" of lift and the boss coilovers only go up to around 3". So where exactly are you coming up with a 6" lift?

This is what has me confused. I don't think the 6" lift is truly 6".

The Boss kit from F150 lifts only lifts 0-3". Are you looking at the Pro-Comp 6" suspension lift they carry?

Yes sorry. Don't 6" lifts only raise the rear around 4" - 4 1/2"

How tall is your garage door? I just installed a 6 inch lift on my 2013 and it fits in my garage with about 2 inches of clearance. My lowest point at the opening is 83 inches, just under 7 ft. I test drove a lifted truck first to verify. I installed toyo AT2 35 1250 20. Hope this helps.

My truck has a 6" lift and 35s, and it fits in the garage just fine.
