Add a 6" lift and now we're at 83" tall. Put on 35" tires (which adds approximately 1 1/2" to the height assuming stock tires are 32" tall) and now we're at 84 1/2" which is more than 7'.

This is the main reason the garage doors in the house I'm building will be 8'.
I think most 6" lifts lift the front 6" and the rear like 4-4.5", so your total lift is less than 6", just sayin

My 2007 FX4 6" lift with 33's (didn't have the truck long enough to put 35's on it) would fit in the garage no problem, but it was close. I never measured exactly but another 1" or so would have been too close for me to be comfortable driving in and out every day

Agreed. The measurement I came up with isn't exact but it's close and the truck shouldn't be any higher than that as long as he doesn't lift the back so much that the rake is more than the factory rake.

Also...... the actual available height varies due to the amount clear under the opening (due to trim, etc.) as well as the door arm as mentioned above. The best thing to do is measure the actual garage in question and go from there.

Interesting, I found that information on the O/A height being 76.7" (77"~6'-5") height. My parking garage at work reads 6'-3" and my 2012 FX4 screw with the 20" stock wheels fit the one time I drove it to work with about 6-7" spare. Next time I drive it to work I am going to measure the low point of the parking garage and difference in roof gap.
