Default 6 inch lift with 35s, will it fit in garage

Have a friend with a 2012 fx4 who is debating between 4 and 6 inch lift. He would like to fit in the garage. Will it fit with 6 inch?

I don't think it will. I have a standard 2.5 car garage with 7 ft door. My 2" level and 35's barely fits. Have him measure the opening.

He thinks it will fit and everything I read leads me to believe it won't. He already has a level and 35s.

Have him pull into the garage with his truck as it sits now. Measure the closest point from the top of the truck to the opening. That will tell him if it will fit or not.

He says there are four or five inches to spare but I am mainly just seeing if anyone can confirm it fits.

Bust out a tape measure. Only really way to tell as which each garage may be a certain height, have to go based off how low the garage door hangs from the ceiling while up.

My '08 with 6" Fabtech and 37" Toyos is exactly 7' tall to the high point of the cab. Plus or minus a couple frog hairs depending on the air in the tires.

With 35"s he might be able to just get in under the door.

The diff between a 35" and 37" tire is 1" of height.

My 2010 with a 6" and 35" tires wouldn't fit in a 7' door. If you put it on paper......... a stock F150 4x4 Supercrew is approximately 77" tall (according to Ford specs it's actually 76.7"). Add a 6" lift and now we're at 83" tall. Put on 35" tires (which adds approximately 1 1/2" to the height assuming stock tires are 32" tall) and now we're at 84 1/2" which is more than 7'.

This is the main reason the garage doors in the house I'm building will be 8'.

Mine fits under my 7' archway the problem I see is garages have this arm that drops down and that would would be lower than 7' my garage is packed with tools so I never have worked on it, looking at a new garage from (1 to a 3 car) and archway in the up coming year with at least 8'6" clearance provided the economy
