Well, I take my comments back. If you have the factory Sony headunit and you're upgrading to an aftermarket system, I think there's plenty of interest potential from other members wanting to upgrade from the base 6cd headunit. But I'm not sure if it's a simple plug-n-play or if the sync/radio's recognition is turned on thru programming.

I am not upgrading to aftermarket. The stock system is only a single disc, as far as I know, since my truck has a $400 6 disc upgrade. I was only thinking of swapping it with somebody who had a single disc and wanted the 6 disc since I will never put a cd in mine.

You may lose sound quality going from the Sony headunit to the regular Ford headunit (single cd). But I'm sure you'll find an eager forum member to make the trade.

I dont think the actual headunit is different. I think the changer is simply a separate unit inside the dash, similar to how a computer is setup. I am not 100% sure on this, but I may pop my dash apart this week and take a look. You can get the Sony system without the 6 disc option, that is why I am thinking everything behind the dash is modular.

Hmm, ill have to see. I know I was charged 435 dollars for the Sony 6 disc CD changer. If it is supposed to come with it than why was I charged 435 bucks on the sticker?
