Is the 6.2L worth the $$$$

I owned a 2004 Lariat Crew with the 5.4L, 4x4 for 7 yrs. I had a few "bugs" initially out of that motor. They were electronic though. Had new headers replaced under factory warranty and a whole list of various other issues throughout the life of ownership.
I now have a 2011 LIMITED with the 6.2L. I can not say enough about the 6.2. The old 5.4L has 315hp and the 6.2L has 411hp. The 6.2L is getting BETTER gas mileage than my 5.4L. I drive the same way to the same place of employment (22miles) every day. I never ever in 7yrs got more than 15mpg out of my 5.4L but on my first trip in my 6.2L i got 16.7mpg. On average I am getting 14.5mpg all the time out of my 6.2L. The newer motor is 6speed the older 5.4 is only 5. The newer motor has enough torque to pull hills in 6th gear on the interstate that would make my old 5.4 shift back one gear. I had the same rear end in both trucks making by the way. I pull a boat at around 2,800lbs with ease. The 6.2L is the way to go, who would not want 100more additional horsepower and better gas mileage.

The 6.2 is single overhead cam versus the 5 liter being dual overhead cam. Just because its design is somewhat older doesn't make it junk like some posters elude. The design of the 5.0 is awesome.... in a Mustang... Low end torque is a thing of the past with any v8 hence the ecoboost filling that void. The 6.2 pulls well though however even in that respect as well. That said I will take the older tech, out of date, antiquated engine that still has more power than the newer v8 option any day. And I did... and may buy more of them too.
