we got an EB for our company truck, mostly because it's slightly better on gas and much more quiet for the lady under acceleration.

If I was buying a truck for myself and not worried too much about gas money, I would have gotten the 6.2, no question asked! Once our business picks up, I'm already thinking of selling the EB, getting a used 6.2 and buying something else (smaller) to drive around town!

It makes good power and tows great but it's a pretty ancient design and sucks gas. There seems to be a resurgence of fondness for it since the discontinued announcement. I test drove one in the raptor and was not overly impressed with the power as compared to the ecoboost. Still, if I had known then that the fuel economy of the EB would be so bad I probably would have opted for the 6.2 in my platinum.

I LOVE my 6.2L!
No EPAS!!! Want to see some unhappy people, check out that thread! (Steering rattles and makes the truck feel like it is falling apart)
No condensation issues (stumble in humid conditions)
All the power (maybe more - 411hp and 435ft torque with premium) of the 3.5 but in a different rpm band
Ahhh that wonderful sound especially past 3500rpm!

And knowing you are not one of the gazillions who have the Ecoboost!

Try a 6.2 in a non Raptor, noticeably different.

More power mid range and above. Below 2500 rpm you will feel no difference. Both good reliable motors with about same mpg.

You are correct until you throw in a tune.

The difference between the 5.4 and the 6.2 is much greater than from the 5.0 to the 6.2. I'm gunna get flamed but I couldn't tell a hill of beans difference between a tuned 5.0 and the 6.2. Granted a tuned 5.0 is pretty close to the stock numbers of the 6.2. I thought the 5.0 was a much more refined and smooth engine compared to the 6.2. It did have a meaner growl however! Test drive one and decide if it's worth the money over a 5.0, these are just my opinions....
