Default Is the 6.2L worth the $$$$

I currently have a 2009 F150 Lariat with the 5.4 3v. Im running a tune from 5Star and its running pretty good. I ran across a 2011 F150 Lariat Limited with the 6.2. Would having the 6.2L be worth the money and power or should i stick with the reliable 5.4?

I love mine. Bought it with just over 24k on it and I now have just over 50k on it. I have owned it for 2 years now and have had no issues with it. Runs great, smooth and plenty of power when needed. Average mpg since I have owned it is just about 14.4 according to the on board info. That includes a number of towing trips along with around town and highway. Most of my driving is town. Love it, love it, love it.

Seems like all these f150 engines get about the same real life mpg 15-18 averages

Yes, 100x, yes! Been very happy with mine since I bought the truck in October of 2012, she's got just under 60k on the odometer. Little rough on fuel, but that's to be expected. Lifetime average is currently at 18.2L/100km (12.9 mpg). Love the power, great sound, and a very smooth engine.

No, no, no. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. You appear happy with your vehicle so save yourself some $$$ and keep it awhile, especially if it's still under warranty. The grass isn't always greener ......

On a side note, I recommend the 6.2 to anyone who asks. Wait until the end of the 2014 model year when the 2015's start appearing and maybe you can find a killer deal on a 6.2 then.

I am new here and have been reading a lot and have only posted an intro. I currently have a F150XLT 5.4 2wd. I am going to buy a new truck this year, hopefully in a few weeks. I WANT the 6.2. For a host of reasons. I was considering waiting on the 15's but no 6.2 offering, or did I miss something. If for any reason I miss out I will go with a F250. I am finally getting to pick whatever I want for a truck the second time in my life(first was still swayed for second choice) and probably my last and it is being dropped. I want the 6.2. And not in a GMC/Chevy.boo hiss.

I love my 6.2, I recommend getting one before it's too late! Pulls my truck around with 35's effortlessly.

Thanks for the help guys. My truck is in excellent shape but the Limited has been a truck I always wanted. I love the sound of a V8 and I do tow every now and then but most of the time its just for hauling stuff in the bed. The 5.4 is a great motor but i want more power. I guess Ill see what the dealer can workout and i can see if it is really worth trading in my truck for it.
