Default 6.2l f150 tuners

Hi Guys, Have always wanted to get a tuner for my truck but have heard that you don't gain much with the 6.2 other than firmer shifting. Anyone have an experience good or bad?

There are a few options for you on this.

Are you planning on adding any performance parts? Intake, exhaust, headers etc...

You can go with a Canned tune out of the box or do a custom tune.

Contact 5 Star Tuning or Livernois...they are both Vendors here and can set you up with a custom tune.

No other mods planned, just seems like the big engine could be a little snappier/funner to drive. I also tow a heavy Camper so a towing tune would be nice to. But looking for some guys that have done it before with this same truck to see how the gains are before I shell out the cash to buy one.

My truck is a 2014 FX4 with the 6.2. I have experience with tuning this truck as it has been tuned since it had 1k miles on it....and it is about to have 50k.

I know the link Im about to put here is for 5.0 tuners but please read it as it contains a lot of info including a long post from me.

You gain way more than just firmer shifting....atleast I did with my 6.2 and MPT Performance 93 street tune. It is like driving a whole different truck. Truck is more responsive, quicker to accelerate and for my tune, the shifting holds the gears longer so it stays in the higher rpms longer which means the power is right there for you to use.
I had to put my truck back to stock for a week while a CEL was getting diagnosed and I absolutely hated it. It made me want to sell the truck....haha. Once you tune your 6.2, you'll never go back and wish you did it sooner.

I am currently running MPT 87 Street tuning. Have ran 5star in the past. So far, I like the MPT. When I lift my truck next month, I'm changing to the 93 Street. Overall, throttle response and shifting is great. Much better than stock. I'm sure there are other good tuners ou there, but these just happen to be the ones I have tried. Don't expect huge Hp gains like a forced induction engine will, but it will feel more lively.

I ended up talking to Torrie at Unleashed and think I am gonna go that way. I have an old sct so sounds like he can just email me the custom tunes. Like stated before his customer service and response time is great!

Thanks for all the help guys, I'll chime back in later with updates.
