Thanks for your list of which tunes you run.

Which one do you spend most of your time using?

I know on the edge I used the premium tune because it actually netted me better gas mileage, enough to offset the additional fuel costs.

So far driving this truck has been just great. Loving the extra size of the cab vs my 06 super crew. The extra height of the 4x4 as well is great!
I change between 87 perf and 91 perf. I just went back to 91 yesterday because the throttle and acceleration is much quicker and had to turn turn my shift percentage from 2-3 because it slammed into gear and didn't feel good lol I've had my platinum 6.2 for 3 years now had the purge pump go out but that's just crappy gas around here in cali and I had the rear end greased up aside from that I've never had a problem with this truck beside her being thirsty

Wink

Nice truck. But, I am partial to Red, so.... I have an '11 Lariat. In '10 I wanted an F150 but couldn't find what I wanted. After doing some research on the net is when I found that the 6.2 would be available in some models besides the Raptor. In early October of 2010 I ordered my '11 Lariat, and the 6.2 was the first check. I'm at about 58,000 miles and the truck has been awesome. Check out my albums for some pics and info on my mods. I know you will enjoy your truck to no end......

Alpinestar That so much for your input on the 5* tuning and settings. That will be one of the 1st things I do to the truck. This one isn't near as bad prior to the tune of the 5.4L. That truck was like night and day difference. I too didn't want to go with the ecoboost. Not hating on it either as a fellow engineer I can fully respect what they did. I just like my good old V8's.

Scarlet I too am really liking the color. It looks great. I am really really happy that I stumbled on the 6.2L. The sound and feel of it is just great. The 3.73 gears make it very drivable in town and feel like a good spot on the highway. So far I think I have put on about 80 miles...

I know the 6.2L in the F250s are the go to engine for reliability in work trucks for fleet vehicles. Several job sites I have been on, they all used those trucks and all said they had good luck with them. I also had to search a bit for any "common" or really any problems with the 6.2. There aren't as many so I am sure that helps that stat though too But so far so good. The 100k mile warranty helps out too though.

Congrats on the new ride. I too have a 2011 6.2 Lariat with the 3:73 gears and 36 gallon tank. You will absolutely love the instant torque of the 6.2. Even better with a tune. I run 5 Star tunes as well. Everyday driving, 91 performance and 87 tow when I have my travel trailer behind me.

I've never had any issue with the engine either but I'm only at 39k miles.

You will find that us non-Raptor 6.2 owners are in the minority so when it comes to engine questions I find myself browsing Raptor forums often.

As a 2013 6.2 Raptor owner, Just wondering what kind of gas mileage you are getting on your trucks. I run the 5* tune on my Raptor. Normally I use the daily street 91 for best mileage. Getting avg of 12.5 around town but can get close to 17 on highway if I stay at 65mph. I love the performance tune, just kills me on gas mileage.

Well I'm a young guy and my foot is heavy but if I drive it normal I can squeeze 13.0 and 19.0 on the freeway at 65mph but that's driving like and old timer I average 10.0 if I hot dog it . How high is your rpms on the highway with those 4.10s

Drove down to Phoenix area last week from home at 5000' with destination ~ 1200'. Several up/down grades between until near NE edge of the valley. Using A/B trip meters (B reset before return leg), got 20.7 mpg down and 14.5 mpg back for 17.1 mpg overall on prox 165 miles roundtrip. Drove posted limits with Leer topper over the bed plus stuff inside. Plenty acceptable to me. Love the power and subdued rumble of OEM Raptor exhaust. No tuner on mine for warranty reasons...

I haven't paid attention to the rpms. I'll look the next time I head out on the highway. I'm one of those old guys who drives slow. Drives my son crazy but that's part of the fun.

Haha there's nothing wrong with that I'm sure you've had your fun when you were young and have had cars that we young guys only dream of.
