Default 5L to 3.5L ecoboost

I have an 2012 XTR with the 5L. Its a great truck. However my Dealership has some great incentives for a 2014 XTR 3.5L ecoboost. I have driven it and I like it. I've been spending the majority of driving in city traffic. I don't tow and rarely haul anything. Has anyone switched from the 5L to the 3.5L eco? If so what do you like and dislike? Is the eco any better for city traffic? I'm not trying to start a flame war, just want to hear your experiences.

Most posts I've seen (if not all) has been people going from the EB to the 5.0, not the other way around... I've owned both, theyre both good, depends on preference I guess. Lots of threads comparing the 2 on here...

One of my work trucks is a 2012 5.0, and my personal truck is a ecobeast.

They're both awesome, only difference is the ecobeast has more power.

I get about the same mileage on each, and they both drive great.

What do you mean by any better for city traffic?

I went from a '11 5.0 to a '14 Eco. There isn't a lot of difference to me.

If you don't tow much I'd stay with the 5.0

No Tow = 5.0

Unless you like bragging about having a fast truck

If you are doing it for gas mileage stop. Even if you get the 1mpg advantage, you will end up losing money more than likely.
If you just want a different truck go for it. I've got 15,000 mins on an Eco and probably 50,000 on a5.0. Both are great.

Sound of a V8 vs. Sound of turbos, I'll leave that up to personal preference lol

^ I'll take the nasty whistle of turbo's. Too bad they aren't very loud on the EB. Nothing cooler than watching drag Mustangs on youtube and listening to them spool up and launch.

I second what PPP said. Don't do the switch or MPG gains, there really isn't a difference. If you want a new ride and a different feeling engine.. go for it.
