Tire questions
I know there are many tire threads out there but it seems a lot of them are not followed up on. I have a 13 fx4 super crew. I will most likely be keeping the stock size of 275/65/18. My driving and habits tend to point me towards an all season highway tire. But....I like the look and capabilities of all terrains. I have narrowed down 3 tires that I like and have some questions. First, the tires I'm looking at are:
Yokohama Geolandar G015 AT
Hankook Dynapro ATM
Falken Wildpeak at3w
The Yoko and Hankook are closest in weight to my factory Goodyear SRAs.
Each brand can be had for around $700 out the door in the stock size.
Am I going to notice a huge difference in handling and ride quality between the stock Goodyear's and any of the above tires?
Which tire is least likely to hurt my MPG?
Most of my driving is on pavement. I do drive daily on some gravel roads at work and a few tar n chip backroads.
I'm wanting a good tire for interstate driving but still have the capabilities of an all terrain should the need arise. I'm not an off roader by any means.
So any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm going to wait til Labor Day to see if I can catch an even better deal. Thanks.

Those Goodyears are not the best. You'll probably see better handling with a change. The Falken is great, but heavy. You will probably lose 1-2 mpg with them (in stock size), you'd have to decide if that is "minuscule" or not. ATs are noisier than HTs, but most aren't too bad.
The Falkens look amazing on the truck. I don't know about the other 2 specifically.

You will lose MPGs if you go to an LT tire. I currently have Duratracs in LT275/70r18and lost almost 2 MPGs. I am looking at Wildpeak A/T3W in 265/70r18 or 275/65r18. They only weigh 47 lbs compared to my Duratracs at 57 lbs.

I'm going to be sticking with a P rated tire. Aside from the occasional bed full of mulch or pea gravel, I don't ever haul. I will pull a lawnmower trailer from time to time. P rated should be fine for that I would think.

I’ve heard good things on here about the Falkens. The only one I’ve had experience with was the Geolanders, but that was about 10 years ago so while the pattern looks the same I’m sure the compound was different. I wasn’t impressed though, they only lasted 35k for me. But like I said it's likely they've changed the compound so it holds up better.
They aren’t on your list, but the best all terrain tire that’ll keep very good road handling characteristics, wear, and mpg is the Michelin LTX AT2. They don’t look as “cool”, and aren’t quite as aggressive off-road, but they easily got 1 mpg better than any other all terrain I’ve used and lasted the longest. I had 50k on them when I sold my last truck and they still had life left.

I had Bridgestone Alenzas from the factory. They were actually great tires, but I wanted a different look. Went to the Michelin AT, lost about 2mpg highway. My average mpg didn't really go down much, however, maybe .5mpg. Switched to Falken AT3W, dropped another 1mpg or more average. All of these tires are under 33" diameter, P metric. All of them had good dry and wet traction. I really like the look of the Falkens, and the price.
So, I originally was at 16mpg average, and am now at 14-14.5.

You do pay a premium for Michelin's, but the longer life and potential better fuel mileage offsets that cost. On my last truck I did the math, the LTX's saved me money in the long run just taking into account how much longer they lasted over the other A/T's I've used.
