Default 5 star 5.4 dyno results?

I'm going to pull the trigger soon on a 5 star tune. Does anybody know what kind of numbers ill get from my stock 2009 5.4 fx4? I cant seem to find dyno numbers for 09/10 5.4

No idea about the numbers, but it is worth the improvement in transmission shifting alone. No regrets with my 09

I messeged 5 star today so ill see what they say. I had a tune on my 05 mustang and the throttle response alone was worth it so i know it will wake up my dog of a truck. Did you have them program the tow/haul button to do anything like the OD lockout?

It seems like on most N/A setups a mail order tune is worth around 25 hp'ish

I have 5 star 87 performance/tow tune on my 2010 5.4L. I love it, noticeably more power, better throttle response and transmission behavior including nice firm shifts. The tow haul button on my application prevents upshift to 6th gear, changes shift points and applies engine braking / decent control.
Get it, you'll never look back.

This is correct. I dont know specifically about the 5 Star tunes but the 5.4 engine on AVERAGE, usually will see right about 24 RWHP gains from a solid tune.

Everybody gets caught up in the dyno numbers though and main thing about a solid tune though ( aside from the HP gains ) to remember is how it will drastically improve your shifting in the transmission ( much quicker and smoother then stock ) and also eliminate 95% of your throttle lag.

Agreed the power gain is a bonus. The drivability alone is worth it not to mention being able to update your tune if you change tire size/gear ratio in the future.

Thanks for the info fellas. 5 star got back to me a said to expect 20-30 hp/tq gains so that sounds about right. Cant wait to wake up my truck.

Wouldn't power gains be dependent on which tune as well? I'll guarantee I get more power on my 93Race, than my 87P/T

I dont recall exact #'s, but I had a tune dyno'd on my old 2006 F150 5.4. It picked up about 30rwhp peak, but as much at 45-50 under the curve in certain areas down low. It was also an incredible difference in shifting performance and throttle response. By far the best mod you can do on a Ford truck.
