Definitely prefer the 6.5' myself. Bought mine 800 miles away just to find what I wanted.
The build site shows the 6.5 being less than the 5.5 I believe if i remember my builds when I was looking...

Hahaha my dealer receipts from servicing all have 145" wheel base. I just remembered that seeing this thread again. They said it isn't a big deal when I first brought it up.

I would think correct records is a big deal. Another reason to add to why I've gone back to doing my own work.

you would figure with how expensive aluminum is supposed to be it would be more for the 6.5...but I guess if you have something in demand you can charge more for it than the normal cause people will pay for it....

The 6.5'' has been a +$300 option on the 09-14s for a long time when configuring from the site. I specifically remember that thinking "Who wouldn't for just 300 bucks?"

But obviously, its not that simple. And not worth regurgitating.

...and if you are buying a truck through your business, you cannot take bonus depreciation with a 5'.5" bed, it has to be 6' or longer which is just ridiculous since it is a work truck, but the government says that extra 1/2 foot decides if it is for work or not.

I do construction by trade (concrete to be exact) and wanted a 6.5 bed but I couldn't find anything with a crew and 6.5 bed in an ecoboost. Several 5.0s but, and sry to start anything, they felt like dogs after driving ecoboost for years.

This site can tell you exactly the way your truck left the factory:
http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

but, as said above, if it measures 6.5', it's 6.5'.
