5.4 warm up time?
I have an 09 with 106k miles. I can let it run for 10-15 minutes and then drive 2 miles and it still hasnt reached full temp yet. Was going to check my thermostat but figured id see others warm up time. I had a 98 4.6 and i went through everything to get it to warm quicker but nothing helped. My 04 on the other hand was full temp in less than 10 minutes.

That's strange, are you starting it and turning the heat on right away? If so it will make it take longer to warm up. On really cold days I start my 2010 which has the 4.6 3v and I don't turn any heat on and it warms up between 5-10 mins. I have started it and turned the heat right on and noticed it wasn't really warmed up after the same amount of time. And driving it warms it up much faster.

Ambient temp. has a lot to do with it. But some cars do tend to warm up faster. My '94 T'bird with a 4.6 warms up really fast. I'll let it idle for 5mins., take a slow ride out of my development and to the first street light, and it's blowing nice and warm. I recently bought an '02 Mercury Gran Marquee that has the 4.6 in it also. But it takes forever to warm up. Probably twicw as long as the T'bird did. My '11 Lariat does pretty well. It has the 6.2. I'll hit the remote start and let it run for 8-10mins. and when I go out to get in it's warm already. Temps here at this time has been averaging 19-25 at night with a few lower.

I do turn the heat on right away. But i also did it in my 04 and it was to full temp when i came out. And with this 09 i have just started it. Waited to idle down and took off...but still was not up to temp after 10 to 15 min of driving.

Unless it's minus 10 or lower, I don't "warm up" my truck.
I get in. Start it up. Wait about 30 secs, put it in gear and go.
If it's -20 C, then yes...it takes a bit longer for the heat to come on...
