Default 5.4 grooved idler pulley loose

i have a 2010 ford f150 with the 5.4l and my grooved idler pulley between the crank pulley and ps pump when the engine is at idle u can see the pulley move like wobble on its shaft so i got a new one popped the old one off and put the new one on and its still loose so is there something besides the washer and bolt that go on it or is there a bushing between the shaft and pulley.

does anyone also know the inside diameter of the pulley thanks

The pulley is one piece and all you need. There should be almost no play when you slide the new one onto the engine. Did you double check to make sure you got the right one? Where did you get it?

about a month ago i noticed that the belt started squeaking like a pulsing squeak so put on a new belt and looked at the old one and noticed that on the side in certain spots it had worn down the cords so fired it up with the new belt on and no more squeak but noticed that the pulley wobbled still which it did with the old belt to. i measured the shaft and its 16.5 mm and the pulleys 16.5mm so i cant work out why it wobbles i have the washer on the nut and tighten it up but still wobbles. there is no sound at all to it at the moment

I'm assuming since you didn't take it to Ford, you're over the warranty period? Is this covered by the powertrain warranty? It never hurts to ask. Something like that should be covered.

It definitely shouldn't. You would chew through belts like a mad man

I noticed this was an old thread but my grooved idler pulley does the same, I've replaced it with a new one which does the same.
