Default 12 v power outlet 2011 F150 Lariet

My grandson broke off the cover on the 12v power outlet behind the console in the back seat area. It is a square black cover. The 110 volt outlet is next to it. I bought the part- part number: 19a487, but don't know how to replace it. Do I have to pull the console to do it, or does the old broken one come and off and the new one snap in? Any help on this will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ken

Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you a copy of the pages you need from the service manual.

Thanks SVT2205, a member sent me a detailed photo of the extraction process. It requires a special tool.

I'm in the same boat, my son broke off the tab on the 12V outlet. I would also like to know how to remove this sucker.

Here is the ford part number for my f150 lariat: bb5z-19a487--ba. This is the cover for the 12v receptacle. Inside the receptacle there are two flanges you have to push closed to extract it. There is a special tool for it. The part number for it is 501-039. You can google it and it is available at several places. Once you have it you insert into the receptacle and pull it out. There will be two wires on the back. Just unplug the wires, take off the old cover, put on the new ones, reattached the two wires ( they just snap off and on) and reinsert the receptacle. Don't need a tool for this just push it back in. Make sure it snaps in ok. Here is the email address of the guy who sent me pictures out of the ford service manual explaining the process: Henry Blau <henry.blau@gmail.com>. He is a Ford Mechanic.
Good Luck,
Ken

Thanks for the reply and the information on the tool, Ken. Seems like a fairly painless task.
