5.0 Is a slug
I have a 2013 f150 5.0 that I absolutely love. About a year ago I installed a 6" lift and am running 35's. I have the 3.55 gear ratio and the truck has a very difficult time getting up hills at 70+ often dropping into 4th gear. I have been able to deal with it for awhile but I'm contemplating a re-gear. What should I go to and roughly what should it cost. Ford dealer quoted $2500 for 4.10s. Thats ALOT of money. Also I will be pulling a skid steer before long but at the same time I do some highway driving. All input appreciated. Thanks

If your on the highway frequently around 70+ I'd say 4.10s. 4.56's are supposed to be the "stock power" gear with 35's, but your highway mileage probably won't be pretty. 4.30's seems to be a good compromise but for some reason you can't hardly get them. As best I know 4.88 is as big as you can go, maybe 5.13. But unless your off-roading eff that.
I wouldn't get 3.73's either. Won't be a whole lot better on power and you won't really get your bang for your buck for $2500
Thanks guys. If anyone currently is running 4.10s and 35's what kind of highway mpg do you get? I get around 12-14 all around which is what it is but if I'm getting bad mpg I would at least like to justify it with getting some torque and power back.

That is a little high but parts will be $700-1000 for front and rears, maybe cheaper if you shop around and find discounts.
As to install, a mom and pop off-road or race shop would be cheaper.
You also have to make sure there are it her gear ratios that will fit, I know there have been several threads stating its hard finding aftermarket gears that fit. The 4:10 they are selling you is for the raptor so it will work.
The best thing is to go find a gear calculator to find what gearing will put you back intimate stick power band. If you find the right gears the truck will drive like stock.

4.56s all day. I may do them in my '12 with 3.55s and 33s, the 5.0 loves high rpm and I drive like a jackass in the mountains. Most of the trucks I've geared on 35s that went 4.10s regretted not going 4.56s if they tow or haul.

I'm probably going to go this route within the next year on my 5.0, but I will say that a regear (as long as its similar to a '91 240sx) is not that hard as long as you have tools. I'm sure you have a gear head friend that wouldn't mind doing it with you if you buy him a six pack. F150's may be a different beast and somebody else might be able to chime in.

I've serviced mine and even installed lunchbox locker in diffs but I don't want to mess up lash or pinion bearing.
