I think so. The company I work for is a utility company with a fleet of about 175 f150s state wide with about 15 of them being in the office that I work for. These motors dont give the company any real problem that Ive heard of. Alternators and coils need to be replaced sometime after 75k but that seems to be about it. Trucks get about 3-5k a month of town driving and not mention the time spent idling. most are sold off at around 145k with 2 on our lot with over 200k. All of them have the base engine. I think you just get a higher concentration of people with a certain problem on a forum like this due to the high number of members. So say 10 out of 10k members report a problem, It looks to be a big issue till you take the 10k number into consideration. I have seen such good luck with the f150 through work that I didn't bat an eye when I bought a used 2010 with 4.6 with 100K. Wife got the new ride this go around. The rule is if you want to trust your vehicle dont read the forums.

All engines have issues. The amount of the issues you read about are out of proportion to the amount if total engines In service. I plan on being able to put 250k miles on a 5.0 with out major issues.
