Default 10 FX4 S-Crew mod suggestions

Had this in another section...pretty sure this was prob where I should of asked.

Hello all! I just bought a 2010 F 150 FX4 S-Crew w/ 27K miles, leather and power everything on Labor Day and already have a few upgrades in mind. Was hoping to pick some minds and get some ideas. Also, I am in the Denver area if that helps narrow down any stores.

1) exauhst. Not looking for anything to add power, just wanting a good, low rumble with 2 pipes out the back. Midas was suggested to me as I was told they do good work for cheap...can anybody verify that? Midas was closed by the time I was able to get by there today after work. Two other places I checked quoted $600 (4 Wheel Parts) and $500 (Off Road LTD). A buddy at work said his wife got Flowmasters put on her Mustang for 300, but he couldnt remember the place. Also...Catback is just from the Cadillidic Converter back correct? Is that cheaper? Kind of what Im looking for. A guy said he had something like that done for 350 which is better than 500.

2) Wheels. I like the black rims with a little bit of the machine brushed silver on them. Any particular ones that you like or would suggest? Under 200/rim is prefered. I like more black than I do silver/chrome on them. 50/50 black/silver is fine as well. Also, Im keeping the tires that are on the truck now, Wrangler somethings...I forgot the letters at the end, but they are already an offroadish tire. 4 Wheel Parts quoted me 850 for everything.

3) Speakers/Stereo. I have the 6 disc HU w/ Sync and Id prefer to keep it. From what I have beena able to find out, its 6x8's in the door. I found one page on here where somebody linked to Crutchfield, thanks BTW, awesome tool! But it showed by year/make/model of the vehicle of speakers that would fit. Would 4 6x8's be best or maybe 2 6x8's and 2 4" or 6" speakers be better? TOYING with the idea of 1 10" sub...Im guessing best place is under the rear passenger seat? What all do I need to make that work? Not trying to be the loudest, looking for a good, clean sound.

Thank you all in advanced for any help you can be! Also sorry if some of these questions have been asked and answered already. I gave kind of a quick glance and didnt see exactly what I was looking for.

1. Exhaust; I have a banks monster Exhaust an it's a cat back which means its from the cat back. It's a bolt up system an took me 30 minutes to install. Believe I paid $550 shipped. I have the single side but they do make a dual kit. Sounds absoulty amazing. And gets better with use.

2. Wheels; look at fuel wheels and BMF they make some good looking wheels that are black with some machined finishes. I have BMF Novakanes and love them.

Stereo equipment don't have any

Some quick easy mods that would give you a better look at Harley Head and tail lights and a leveling kit. Then maybe a grill. That is the first things I did to my 2010. I hated the flashy chrome head and tail lights

What exactly does a leveling kit do? I'm not real familure with a lot of this stuff, not a car guy by any means.

As far as grill goes, i already have the all black grill and bumper on it. On chrome is the F 150 decal and side bars...not trying to add much more.

If you noticed, our trucks sit like its nose diving. The front end is a bit lower then the rear. The leveling kit levels it out and makes the truck look (imo) better also gives you more clearance for bigger tires.

The speakers are a 5x7. They suck. You can go with a 6.5 coaxial or 5.1/4 coaxial. I went with 2 5.1/4 component systems and installed a rockford fosgate t400-4 amp. I have the sync sustem, its ok but i am going to remove the oem stereo and replace it with an ipad. I plan on adding 2 more amps and 2 subs. Ill have to use the entire rear space under the seat and ill ahve to lift the rear seat 2.5inches to make it work. Anyways, there is youtube videos on how to's for amp and sub installs. Or you can have a car audio shop do it for you.

If you're just looking for sound and aren't worried about performance, just get a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler and have a shop weld it where the factory muffler is. You don't need a full cat-back just to change the sound. A muffler and installation should be $150 or so.

Wheels are just preference. I like to use Tirerack.com to browse, since they have a big selection and a good way to sort wheels by size, color etc. They also have a feature that lets you pick out your exact truck and view the wheels on it. I've never bought from them, so I don't know how good their prices are.

I've never done any aftermarket audio, so I can't help you on that one.

Thanks! That might actually me an idea to do. Could still do a chrome tip on the end couldnt I? How hard is it really to install a new system anyway? Guy at work SAYS him and I could do it in his garage on a Saturday and only cost me a case of beer.

You can get bolt on chrome tips, so yeah, that's possible. Or a shop can weld one on. IMO, weld on usually looks better.

A lot of the cat back systems are all bolt-on installations, so you can do it in a couple hours with a basic socket set. If you go with just a muffler replacement, it will need to be welded into place. If you're not familiar with welding on exhaust, then you'll want a shop to do that.
